Join Our Volunteer Team

All volunteer activities take place on Town of Greenwich property, and everything we do improves our Town.

We work in partnership with the Town’s Parks Department, extending their efforts through volunteer projects that enhance and beautify public spaces beyond what the Town budget alone can support.

Our volunteers range in age from two to ninety-two!

Each volunteer event begins with a brief educational discussion about ways we can care for our local environment, including recycling, waste reduction, conservation, and other simple actions that make a difference.

Explore Volunteer Opportunities

  • Attack Invasive Vines and Plants

Volunteers learn how to identify and safely remove invasive vines and plants through illustrations, hands-on examples, and guided instruction using GG&C-provided tools and gloves.

  • Clean Parks, Beaches and Other Town Properties

With our gloves and buckets. We teach what is biodegradable and how long items take to decompose.

  • Help Create Winter Hanging Baskets

Each November, volunteers gather over three days at Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses to help create our winter hanging baskets before Thanksgiving week. Sam Bridge generously provides greenhouse space, materials, and supplies, making this seasonal community project possible.

  • Adopt a Traffic Island

Near your home and convince neighbors to join with the planting, tending and watering. Partnering with the Parks Department, we offer design help and some supplies.

  • Help GG&C through Corporate Volunteer Opportunities

Engage your team in meaningful, hands-on volunteer projects throughout Greenwich. Corporate groups can support GG&C through cleanups, beautification projects, invasive plant removal, native planting, and other seasonal community initiatives.

  • Tally the Collected Trash

At the fall cleanup. We send our data to Save The Sound which gives results from many communities to the US government to research what pollutes our waters.

  • Assist With Administration

Support GG&C behind the scenes by helping with office projects, event preparation, communications, and other administrative needs.

  • Join One of our Partnership Events

Volunteer alongside GG&C and our community partners at special events throughout Greenwich, including Paper Shredding Day with the Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board and seasonal cleanup, planting, and beautification projects organized with local nonprofits and the Town of Greenwich.
